Tumultuous times often lead to remarkable change and innovation. With the challenges of the
COVID-19 pandemic, environmental distress, and social unrest, we are currently living in what
some call interesting times. However, these are also the times when people and organizations
rise to meet the challenges of their time.
Meet Seadog Travels. Born in the midst of the pandemic with a unique nautical theme and vision
to explore and protect the ocean, this is a company that is working to play roles in both
improving the travel industry and helping to protect the ocean environment.
The “big hairy idea”, as it’s sometimes called, is to combine ocean travel with ocean science. Not
merely a travel company, Seadog Travels will integrate meaningful, impactful ocean science and
conservation efforts into its travel activities.
How? By highlighting their immersive tall ship sailing adventures, ocean science will be an
integral part of every sail. From the travel perspective, these sails will be thematic, hosted, and
exciting adventures for all types of people. Imagine going on vacation and learning what it was
really like to be a pirate in the 17th Century. Or attend a diving and snorkel sail to explore coral
reefs and assess their health? Immersive, experiential, and exciting. Integrated into these sails
will be ocean science that will be a blend of existing research and new projects. Truly, the
merging of a travel business with scientific research will make Seadog Travels one-of-a-kind.
However, there’s much more to Seadog Travels. Like the octopus with many tentacles, the
company will promote its nautical vision of travel far beyond its sailing adventures. Add on
unique, hosted group travel to tropical islands and coastal communities. Themes, itineraries, and
activities you won’t find anywhere else. Beginning with adventures to Maine, the Florida Keys, St.
Lucia, and Inagua (The Bahamas), more destinations will be added as the company grows.
More yet, Seadog Travels can help people book the best in cruises around the world, and serves
as a comprehensive, accredited, and responsive travel agency. With a focus on small ship cruise
lines that provide better service and more destinations, the focus remains nautical,
personalized, immersive, and experiential. Cruises lines such as Star Clippers, Atlas Ocean
Voyages, and the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection are samples of the types of cruise lines that we
promote.
Rounding out the full-service nature of the company, people can let Seadog Travels help them
buy or sell their used boat – anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. Also, people not going on a
nautical vacation can still use the expertise and services of the company for travel bookings
anywhere in the world. CCRA-accredited and a member of the
Ensemble Network, Seadog Travels has access to travel providers, resorts, land tour
companies, and special deals that people seek when planning their travels.
Now is the time for the travel industry to come together to focus on better service and to help
protect the planet. Seadog Travels is there to help lead the way.
