Crispy Chickpea Fries
When rystal first made these, I was skeptical. ow can chickpea flour be made into fries fter
trying them, I was shocked. They are so good! If you are looking for a healthy fry recipe, give
these a try. I love having them with my Tzatiki sauce.
INGREDIENTS Makes 1 large serving or
• cups ( ml) water, divided 2 smaller servings
• cup ( g) chickpea flour
• tsp olive oil 408 calories for whole recipe
• tsp salt
• tsp black pepper Macros:
• tsp onion powder 21g Protein 56g Carbs 10g Fat
• tsp garlic powder
Optional: Serve with my tzatziki sauce recipe
METHOD
Preheat oven to F
. Pour cup of water into a medium saucepan along with olive oil and bring to a boil.
. In a separate bowl, add remaining water, chickpea flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion
powder. Whisk together until mostly smooth.
. Add the chickpea flour mi to the boiling water and turn down to a simmer (medium heat), stirring
constantly until it gets very thick. It will take appro . minutes.
. Spread the mi ture to your desired thickness on a non-stick baking tray or silicone sheet and allow to
cool.
. Once it s cool, cut into fries and roast at F for - minutes, flipping and baking for another
minutes until the edges turn golden brown and the fries are crispy.
. Serve hot with your favourite dip! We love serving these fries with my tzatziki sauce recipe.
