This heart-warming event was

conducted in 2 phases.

Phase 1 was the fund raiser where a

Charity Run and an entertainment

programme was held in Kandy, which

included exhilarating performances

of some of our celebrated Sri Lankan

artists in order to raise the required

funds for the high-priced filtration

system.

Phase 2 included the donation of the water purification

system to Galeliya Village, one of the highly impacted

villages in Aralaganwila, Polonnaruwa, where many lives

have been lost to CKDU plaguing the villagers.

Major goal of this project was to provide clean water to

rural areas as a solution to prevent being affected by

CKDU as one of the major causes of this disease was

identified as consumption of unsanitary water.

This extremely rewarding event was also considered as

a club outing as they were able to soothe the

stress-burdened minds of our club members by

delighting themselves in the picturesque and

entertaining journey from Kandy to Aralaganwila. The

ceremony organised by the villagers was a highlight of

the day and will forever remain in the memories of all

the participants.
