SENEHASE DAHANA

For four consecutive years, we have engaged in aiding children's homes. This time, a webinar

series was conducted for the children in SOS villages of different areas.

Secondary Avenue Fellowship

The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya collaborated with the Rotaract Club of University

Alumni for the joint community service project, ’Senehase Dahana’. This initiative focused on the

welfare of the children at the Jayawikrama Children’s Home, Pushpadana Mawatha, Kandy. Due to

the recurring COVID-19 complications, the organizing committee had to tone down the project and

ended up with just five members representing both clubs visiting the children’s home on the 1st of

May, 2021 and donated some essential items requested by the orphanage, including a set of

colour-coded dustbins and dry rations.

The initial plan for the project was to organize a spend-a-day program at the selected venue, with

many fun-filled activities. It is planned to be rescheduled as soon as conditions are favourable. The

initiative is aimed at encouraging the community to engage in social service activities even in difficult

times.
