Secondary Avenue Covid 19 Prevention
Quarantine Donations was initiated in order to provide assistance to first year undergraduates in the
hour of need. It was brought to notice that an entire batch of students had been quarantined in their
hostels due to an outbreak of the pandemic. They were facing certain difficulties due to not being
prepared for a long stay in the hostel and also under pressure as they were pending examinations.
The club raised funds in order to donate essential rations to the students and also to uplift their
spirits during dismal times.
LIFE FOR LEOPARDS

We are partners of a community who has forgotten that humans do not own the earth yet are the
caretakers. The fact that many endemic species have faced the threat of endangerment is tragic, and
we hold the responsibility of reversing this negative equilibrium. Rotaract Club of UOP, along with the
Wildlife Conservation Society, Galle shepherded the project "Life for leopards" to identify and
emphasize the dramatic decline of the Sri Lankan leopard population due to human leopard conflict
while elucidating on counteractions. It's never too late to initiate something worthwhile, something
beyond typical boundaries.
Having understood that discussions won't provide real solutions to this particular problem, we
contributed to establishing a leopard research and conservation Center in Morningside on the
eastern boundary of the Sinharaja rain forest. This unit will serve as a center of excellence in
formulating short term-long term solutions for the human leopard conflict while providing related
research and development assistance.
