GREEN LEGACY ’20
Green Legacy is a signature project which focus on environmental conservation in the long term
by contributing to afforestation and reforestation efforts.

Green Legacy is a signature project organised by the
Rotaract Clubs of University of Peradeniya, University
of Moratuwa and University of Kelaniya, focusing on
environmental conservation in the long term by
contributing to afforestation and reforestation efforts.
This year the committee sought to launch an online
public awareness-raising programme titled “Green
Legacy Insight”.This entailed two informative webinars
on the topics “Imperilled Ocean Ecosystems and
reversing the downward trend” and “Sea turtles as a
flagship species for marine conservation in Sri Lanka”.
Both sessions were conducted by professional
environmentalists and were well attended with a
participation of 250 for the first and 400 for the second
webinar.
Meanwhile, the Green Legacy Facebook page was in
operation throughout the year, creating a space for
environmental enthusiasts to spread the message of
love and compassion towards nature through their
creative work.
