Cancer Awareness was a joint project initiated

by the Rotaract Club of University of

Peradeniya, RID 3220, Sri Lanka and Maldives

in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of K.G.

Reddy College of Engineering Technology, RID

3150, India, and Rotaract Club of Youth United,

RID 3150, India, in order to create awareness

among our youth in regard to the development

of cancer and related topics; this project was Phase 1 was a competition organized for our

conducted in 2 phases. creative minds in which interested students

were asked to submit essays, digital posts,

drawings in relation to lung cancer, breast

cancer, thyroid cancer and in order to enthuse

the students into participation, prospect of

providence of an E-certificate for the winners

was also stated during the PR campaign.

Phase 2 constituted an informative webinar

session in which the topic of ‘Cancer Awareness

‘was covered by Dr. Aparna Suryadevar, an

Assistant Professor at the Department of

Radiation Oncology at Mehdi Nawaz Jung

Following the webinar session, the extremely Institute of Oncology and Regional cancer

entertaining ‘Twinning day took place on the centre (MNJIO/RCC); this session was inclusive of

23 of May,2021 where a cultural exchange topics such as causes of cancer, symptoms and

took place between our club members and its prevention methods.

Indian members discussing their different

heritages, cultures, traditions, ideas on

different aspects of life, different descents etc.

On this lively day, our club members became

nostalgic going down the memory lane

recalling past experiences in the club, began

singing and even some dance numbers were

able to be witnessed. The letterhead exchange

also took place on this eventful day.

Subsequently, with the immense support and contribution from our club members, the highly
