The Rotaract Club of University of Peradeniya decided to
organize a Christmas celebration event in a unique way
to spread the joy of Christmas while giving a stage to

competition series was organized under the theme,
Christmas: The time of Sharing & Caring. The
competition had several categories: essay writing, digital
arts, hand-drawn arts, photography, poetry, and
hand-made crafts.

Shalom's main objective was to celebrate Christmas by
giving the message, 'Christmas is all about sharing and
caring’. This project created an excellent platform to
provide worldwide participants with a chance to
showcase their creative skills and identify the individuals
with true potential within the club. We aimed to discover
the hidden talents of the participants and give them
recognition by conducting the project, Shalom.
Furthermore, this project helped spread the message
and encourage people to respect all the religious
festivals and religions without any religious or racial
bias. Lastly, this project was organized to give the
message that we can still celebrate our festivals without
always having physical events by adapting to the new
normal.
