The adults asked permission to take movies and

photos. But it was getting dark, and the humans had to

get back to the cabins near the pelican lake, where they

would spend the night. Mirabel and Twinkle tossed a

coin for who would sleep in the top bunk. Twinkle won

the toss, and Mirabel was not too sorry.

The next day there was an early start to board the

plane. Mirabel and Twinkle were sad to say goodbye to

the pelicans, especially to Joe, and to be heading home.

However, Gallina gathered them all in a group, and said

that she had a suggestion. Since the smoke was still pretty

thick in Kelowna, she wondered if they would like to fly

up to Glacier Bay to have a look at the glaciers. All the

adults were delighted. Nobody was in a hurry to get back

        to work.
"Alaska here we come!" said Gallina. Barry just

looked at her with his black eyes and seemed to think she
was wonderful. He loved her, thought the people who

        noticed.
