What did Joe know about the dangers he might
encounter? They looked all along the beach and near
their rooms calling for Joe, but he was not there.
Now it was dark and there was nothing they could do
but wait until morning. Mirabel had a difficult night,
crying quietly into her pillow. Twinkle, not much for
worrying, dropped off to sleep right away.
