                   •  Tunicates  exhibit  typical  chordate  characteristics  in



                       their larval stage.



                   •  Deterostome  development  is a fundamental  trait  that



                       must  have  evolved  in  a  shared  ancestor  of




                       echinoderms and chordates.







                   •  Echinoderms



                   •  Even though the classes of echinoderms use their tube



                       feet differently, they all have them.




                   •  Adult  radial  symmetry,  a  water  vascular  system,  and



                       endoskeletons  with  spines  are  the  characteristics



                       specific to echinoderms.

                       precursor of the thyroid gland in vertebrates.



                   •  Echinoderms also use tube feet for respiration.
