                   •  Compound  eyes  can  detect  the  movements  of  prey,



                       mates, or predators, and also can detect colors. Simple



                       eyes  can  only  distinguish  between  light  and  dark



                       Spiracles are used in respiration. A tympanum is part



                       of the auditory organ.




                   •  Some  spiders,  such  as  wolf  spiders  and  tarantulas



                       hunt  prey.  Other  spiders  catch  prey  in  silken  webs.



                       Webs  are  mainly  built  to  capture  prey.  Many  spiders



                       consume live pray.




                   •  Adult insects feeding on a different food source than



                       larvae  eliminates  competition  for  the  same  food  and



                       increases chances for survival if food is scarce. It limits



                       the range of foods an insect will feed on at any point in



                       its life cycle. If the larvae develop in an area where the



                       insect  cannot  live,  than  the  larvae  risk  death  upon




                       maturation.
