                   • Most aquatic arthropods use gills to obtain oxygen

Arthropods living in many environments have

                       antennae.

                   • Terrestrial arachnids have chelicerae and pedipalps.

                       Arthropods that undergo incomplete metamorphosis

hatch from eggs as nymphs-an immature form of the

arthropod that look like small adults.

                   • Most insects develop through the four stages of

complete metamorphosis-egg, larva, pupa, and adult.

                   • Ants communicate with each other by pheromones,

which they can sense with their antennae.

                   • Ants do Not use touch to sense food, do not

communicate with each other through sound, and Ants

do not use their antennae to sense vibrations

                   • Insects are the only modern arthropod with wings. No

arachnids have wings. No crustacean has wings.
