                   • Mosquitoes mouths consist of a thin, needlelike tube

that they use to pierce the skin of the animals they feed

off of Mosquitoes do not chew, so they do not need

multijointed mandibles, and do not need strong

                       mandibles.

                   • Insects like flies have fleshy, spongelike mouths

                   • In most arthropods, cellular wastes are removed from

the bloodstream through Malpighian tubules. The

hearts of arthropods pumps blood through the body.

Arthropods, like reptiles, are ectotherms. Arthropods

use gills, tracheal tubes, or book lungs to obtain

                       oxygen.

                   • Millipedes are herbivorous arthropods with two pairs

of appendages on each of their many abdominal

segments. - Centipedes are carnivores, Leafhoppers

have only three pairs of legs.
