- Marked improvement in Year 13 Pure Mathematics, climbing from 5% in 2022 to 100% in
         2024.

         - Positive upward trend in Year 13 Physics, which achieved a full 100% pass rate in 2024.

         3. Strategies Implemented In 2025

         To strengthen academic outcomes, the department implemented several key strategies:
         • Student Target Setting

         Individual targets were set for every student before major examinations.

         • Revision Timetables & Parental Support

         Structured revision timetables were issued and reinforced with parental monitoring.

         • Remedial & Support Classes

         Teachers provided extensive remedial lessons, including model answers, past papers, and
         topic-based worksheets.


            • Use of Past Year Examination Papers
         Students practised with real examination-style questions to build confidence and familiarity

         with exam formats.

         4. Curriculum Coverage

         Coverage across all levels ranged from 80–100%, with most subjects on par with the LTP.
         Senior  Physics  and Mathematics  classes  reported  over  90% coverage,  with  all  remaining

         topics scheduled for completion early in Term 3.

         5. Challenges

         Challenges faced included:
         - Student absenteeism

         - Missing/lost exercise books

         - Students being released for extracurricular commitments
         - Cancelled lessons due to school activities


            6. Projects & Initiatives
         Math Numeracy Program

         Over  218  students  participated  weekly,  completing  problem-solving  activities  and
         assessments.



         Fiji Mathematics Competition
         Twenty-four students proudly represented Nilsen College at the national competition.


            The  Mathematics  and  Physics  Department  has  demonstrated  resilience,  teamwork  and
         unwavering  commitment  throughout  2025.  Teachers  have  worked  diligently  to  ensure

         meaningful learning experiences, while students have shown growth through hard work and
         perseverance.


            We acknowledge the continued support of the school administration, Ministry of Education
         officials, District Education Office, and SEO Mathematics and Physics. Their guidance has

         greatly assisted us in fulfilling our mission of delivering quality mathematics and physics
         education to the students of Nilsen College.
