Greetings to all the readers!

It’s a privilege to give an account of the happenings of Agriculture Department for the
academic year, 2025.

The students at Nilsen College take Agricultural Science
from year 9 to year 13.

With the outstanding results of the external examination
in 2024, we are optimistic that 2025 will be another year
of great achievement for the department.

TEST week was held in Term 2 of week 9. This gave an
opportunity to students to showcase their skills through
various models and project displays, demonstrating both
theoretical understanding and practical application.
Students also developed important enterprising skills.

Year 12 and 13 students successfully completed their
entire task requirement which was moderated at district
level in Week 4 of Term 3.

Years 9-11 students also completed their Common
Assessment Task effectively demonstrating their
practical skills. The CAT assessment was 40 % which was
added to the students’ annual marks.

I would like to acknowledge and express my heartfelt
gratitude to our SEOs for their guidance and advice.

Finally, I wish to express my sincere thanks to the school
administrators, heads of department, members of the
staff and the ancillary staff for their guidance and
support.
