        ECONOMICS

It is a privilege to once again be part of this year’s edition. This year has been a
challenging one to most of the students who took up this subject since majority of the
male students opted to take up Home Economics. With no home economics background
at all, still these students sail through and were able to achieve their dreams come end

          of the year.

The department had achieved 100% for the past few years and it had been through
students’ dedication and hard work. The department through its various initiatives like
practical cooking and sewing should be able to shape responsible and capable individuals.
Through practical activities, students develop confidence and independence. They learn
to care for themselves and others- washing clothes, maintaining a clean environment and

managing household tasks. This helps them grow into responsible adults.

Many career paths grow from Home Economics, such as hospitality, food technology,
child care, fashion design and interior decoration. The subject introduces students to
this fields and build the foundation for future professional opportunities.

To conclude, Home Economics is a vital subject because it teaches the knowledge and
skills needed for everyday living. It prepares students to manage their homes, make wise
decision and contribute positively to their family and society.

As the world continues to change, Home Economics remains an important guide from

creating healthy, responsible and productive citizen.
