Harley took part along with his friend, Roman Solano. They were
part of an elite team of ten apprentices chosen nationwide to attend a
weekend seminar to collaborate on how to be positive role models and
leaders for the younger students who would be attending regional
programs a few months later.

The STEM programs hosted by the NFB were among Harley's
favorite endeavors since he had such strong mathematics, science, and
technology skills. He also had become quite proficient in mentoring
skills that were a primary component of STEM.
At ease with public appearance, Harley eagerly agreed when asked
to participate in the NFB online website video promoting use of the
NFB-NEWSLINE® "app" for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users
released in June of 2012. The app connected blind users to local and
national news programs. With an easy-to-use interface, coupled with
Apple's built-in Voice Over® software, subscribers could get all their
newspaper and magazine content, as well as television listings.
