a. Study how to use an indirect speech in telling a story In a story, a character may ask
something. We call it a direct speech . For example:
“Do you know the name of this place?” asked Princess Pipit
When we tell a story, we may need to describe or to report what the characters said in the
story. To do this, we can make a direct speech into an indirect speech.
For example:

“Do you know the name of this place?” asked Princess Pipit.
