The Battle Of The New Jersey Colony
As Told By Alex the Angry
While everyone was running for their lives, Hugh
was hiding, sitting up next to his polished shoes. Hoping
that they would not get close to the sunlight, for it was a
very sunny day. He knew that the nearest barrack was
about 4 miles north. He also knew Al was at the barrels
of whisky, unaware of what was going on. He knew
Bernard was at his cabin, still recovering. The only
armed colonists were about 50 men who owned hunting
muskets. The colonists were screaming not just from the
Indians, but from the horrific sight of the dead man.
Hundreds of the colonists who had no muskets or
flintlocks had begun running North as blow darts and
bullets had begun to be exchanged from both sides.
