MIL referral bonus program

Referrals have been our most successful resource for hiring “top” talent. A $3,000 bonus is paid to employees for recommending
candidates who are hired to fill full‐time regular positions. The bonus is paid in two equal increments - after the referred
individual has been employed for 30 days and again after 180 days. These bonuses are paid on the next payroll cycle following
these time periods and are subject to applicable taxes and deductions.
To qualify for a referral bonus, the referred applicant may not be a current MIL employee or have previously responded
to advertisements, been referred through employment agencies, have an application on file with the Talent Acquisition
Department, and cannot be active in the database within the last 12 months. Referred applicants must be able to obtain the
required clearance listed for the position.

                              Eligibility criteria:

» Applicant must cite referring employee’s name on the online application
» Applicant must be a new hire
» All employees are eligible for the bonus except the hiring manager, direct supervisor, AVPs, and
                                above
» Referring employee must be an active employee in good standing at time of bonus payouts
» Some jobs may not be eligible (this will be indicated in position description)

        A SkillBridge to success

MIL is proud to participate in DoD’s SkillBridge program, which assists retiring and separating servicemembers make the
transition to civilian life and post-military employment. Through SkillBridge, DoD enables servicemembers to gain hands-
on experience through industry training, apprenticeships, and internships in the civil sector. During their final 180 days of
military service, servicemembers can gain valuable industry knowledge and technical skills to improve their post-military
        career prospects.
To initiate the process, and before applying to MIL—a DoD-approved SkillBridge company—the servicemember must seek
and receive Command authorization to participate. Once approved, DoD places the participating servicemember on TAD/TDY
status during the internship period. During that time, servicemembers continue to receive military pay and benefits in lieu of
compensation from MIL. For our part, we provide participants with one-on-one mentorship, hands-on training, in-the-field
experiences, and the opportunity to learn new skills and hone existing competencies.
The SkillBridge program is a valuable opportunity for MIL to identify highly skilled future MIL leaders with the abilities
and talents needed to meet the demands of our defense and civilian sector projects. It also provides both MIL and the
servicemember a chance to see if the candidate and the company are a good fit.
HR Business Partner Julissa Sanabria discussed the transition from military to civilian life with a group of veteran employees
and how MIL has supported their post-military experience through the SkillBridge program. Here’s a bit of what they had to
        say.
