Celebrating MLK Jr. Day

MIL SVP Larry Hollingsworth was invited to participate in a 2023 Special Observance for Martin Luther King
Jr. Day held by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) African American Employee Resource Group. As
a member of an SES panel (Senior Executive Service) discussion, Larry was asked his thoughts about working
towards a better future, and he observed: “It’s about human interaction. No law or regulation can make another
person love or care about someone. You have to be able to reach people at that level that causes that change in
thinking and a commitment to the other as a human being. You can’t sit in your corner and expect that change
will happen. Change will only come about with engagement.”
