Better interviewers for a better workforce
MIL recruiters and hiring managers recently attended virtual training sessions to improve
their interviewing skills. Over the course of six hours, MIL staffers were instructed on effective
interviewing methods and techniques and had the opportunity to work through real-life
scenarios to hone newly acquired skills. Conducted by Manager Tools using Zoom, the training
sessions also touched on unconscious biases and how to recognize and avoid them when
interviewing.
Refining and enriching MIL’s recruiting process is one of the company’s strategic objectives for
2020 and one of the final pieces toward upgrading MIL’s talent acquisition process. Our goal
for this initiative is to bring leading practices to our recruiters and hiring managers to promote
consistent hiring practices across the company. We believe that better interviews will increase
our ability to hire qualified teammates who can excel in their roles.
Thank you to all those staff members from the DC and Southern Maryland areas who attended
the first wave of virtual training. Charleston hiring team, get ready to participate next year!
