JAMES MADISON FOY, SR (1832-1910)
According to the Kinship Chart, JAMES MADISON FOY, SR of Sweetwater,
Texas and our JOHN ELON FOY were 2nd COUSINS. Finding out things like
that make me wonder “did they know each other?”; “Did they ever see or talk
to each other?”; “What made the families come all the way to Texas?”; “Did
they travel together?”; a hundred questions to which we will never know the
answers.
[I remember my mother telling me about a family named FOY who lived in the
Merkle- Sweetwater, Texas area. She said the day her mother, WINFRED
EDNA ABLE FOY, wife of TRUMAN FRANK FOY, died TRUMAN FOY had
gone to Merkle to trade for an automobile with the FOYs living in that area. I
remember asking her IF those FOYs were relatives but she did not know.
WINFRED died in 1924 near Anson, Texas (my mother was then fourteen years
old).]

SUSANNAH WESTBROOK. He was born in Wilmington, North Carolina
October 19, 1832 and died on August 14, 1910 during Sunday morning church
