Melchizedek because he was blessed by Melchizedek}.In the one
case [the case of the law], the tenth is collected by men who die; but
in the other case, by him who is declared to be living.”
According to the last part of the scripture that is verse 8; In the one
case, the tenth is collected by people who die; but in the other case, by him
who is declared to be living. The tithe was collected by priests who
died but in this dispensation of grace the tithe is collected by priests
who have the life of God in them. The Bible states that Jesus lives
forever as a High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. And in His
priesthood, He receives the tithes of His people.
From the foregoing, it is clear that tithing has a continuous history
from Abraham to Jacob, to the nation of Israel, and then to the
ministry of Jesus as our High Priest.
Benefits of Tithing
• According to Scripture, when we set aside our first tenth and offer
our tithe to the Lord, we are actually acknowledging that Jesus is
our high priest according to the priesthood of Melchizedek.
This is one of the ways we are able to honour Him and acknowledge
Him as our High Priest.
• When you pay tithe you enter into partnership with God; in your
job, your business, and whatever financial endeavor you are in. It
is an honour to have God as a partner; and invite Him to release
His blessing upon the work of your hands.
• When you tithe in your church or ministry, you facilitate the
running of the ministry, and therefore become a partner with
God in fulfilling His mandate upon the earth.
