a pair of famille rose ‘hundred deer’ vases
Late Qing Dynasty
Of archaistic hu shape, each vividly depicted with a herd of deer in
a mountainous landscape, the stags, bucks, does and their young
with spotted and dappled fur in red, brown and white enamels,
surrounded by pine trees and blooming trees, the shoulder set with a
pair of animal-head handles, all supported on a short spreading foot.
The taller 44.8cm (17½in) high (2).
