A famille rose ‘Shoulao and deer’ table screen
19th century
The porcelain moulded to depict the laughing bearded God of
Longevity hunched on the back of a spotted deer bending its head
to crop a lingzhi fungus, the god reaching his hands towards a crane
perched on a pine branch, an attendant following on foot carrying a
staff tied with a finger citron, all against an enamelled leiwen ground,
reticulated wood frame and stand.
The panel 25cm x 38cm (9 7/8in x 15in) (2).
