A famille rose figure of Guanyin
Qing Dynasty
The Goddess of Mercy modelled bearing a gilt vase in her hands
resting at her waist and wearing elaborate robes, the outer robe
enamelled with sprigs of bamboo alternating with cloud scrolls
and endless knots, the similarly decorated veil falling from an iron-
red tiara in front of confronted pink chilong dragons, the pink skirt
covered with a front panel with decorative wave and keyfret borders
behind a bi disc hanging from tassels, the purple-ground under-robe
with peony blossoms and butterflies, all standing on a pedestal with
double-lotus at the front and cloud scrolls behind.
