A fine pair of famille rose barrel-
shaped garden seats
19th century
Each heavily potted stool brightly enamelled around
the exterior with clusters of various flowerheads
in single or overlapping circular roundels, all on a
diaper ground within two rows of bosses above
and below a border of ruyi-heads enclosing leafy
floral sprays, the body pierced with an interlocking
double cash medallion on each side, the flat top
similarly decorated with flowerheads alternating
with bats, encircling another single cash medallion
at the centre.

garden seats
Guangxu
Each with mirror-image panels including reticulated
double-cash suspended by a bat, a long-tailed
bird on rockwork below magnolia and floral
blossoms, and two magpies on rockwork and
in flight below prunus and other floral blossoms,
all below a border of raised bosses, key-fret,
cross-hatched and foliate border interspersed
with floral cartouches, the top with a pierced cash
surrounded by floral sprays and a cross-hatched
border with ruyi at the corners.

Late 19th century
Each vase set with a pair of Buddhist lion and cub
handles on the elongated neck and two pairs of
chilong in relief on the shoulders, decorated overall
with fourteen borders, some repeating, including
cross-hatched diaper ground, magpies amidst
rockwork, chrysanthemum and peony sprays, floral
sprays, precious objects, Daoist attributes and
floral cartouches, Mandarin ducks in a lotus pond,
floiate border and ruyi lappets, wood stands.
Each 90.4cm (35 5/8in) high (4).
