Qianlong
The bodhisattva seated in dhyanasana on a tapering rectangular
pedestal, the hands resting in a dhyana mudra, the hair piled in a
high knot and adorned with a five-leaf tiara, embellished with ornate
earrings and beaded jewellery, framed by a flaming mandorla.

A Tibetan partially gilt-bronze figure of Amitayus
with mandorla and tiered stand
18th/19th century
The figure of Amitayus cast seated cross-legged in dhyanasana with
the hands holding a baluster vase issuing a lotus and three tassells,
the face with lips painted red and adorned with heavy circular
earrings beneath the ornate crown, the figure attached to a tiered
stand with stylised flowers set with coloured beads between stepped
layers, a mandorla framing the figure cast with the Buddhist parasol
issuing leafy fronds flanked on each side by a bird singing out amidst
foliate scrolls and perching on a standard held by a rampant chilong
on a lotus pedestal.
Overall 23cm (9in) high (2).
