Each vase delicately enamelled in three medallions around the body
containing birds and flowers including a duck beside lotus flowers
and leaves, a phoenix curving in flight towards a branch of tree peony
and a peacock flying above chrysanthemums, all reserved against a
powder-blue-ground with three lobed square cartouches and three
fan-shaped cartouches also containing birds and flowers, the blue
enamel gilded with a lobster, a fish and a crab amongst waterweed.
Overall 45.5cm (18in) high (4).

vase and ormolu cover
The porcelain Kangxi, the later mounts probably French
The vase decorated with three circular medallions enamelled in the
famille verte palette and variously containing a phoenix in flight above
tree peony, a peacock flying above blossoming chrysanthemum
branches and a duck swimming beside lotus, the medallion
separated by smaller fan-shaped and loved square cartouches
containing other birds and flowers, all reserved against a powder-
blue-ground gilded with a fish, a crab and a lobster.
Overall 46.5cm (18¼in) high (2).
