A pair of enamelled rectangular plaques
Zi’an seal, cyclical dated jiaxu year corresponding to 1934, probably
by Duan Zi’an (active 1920-40)
The left panel enamelled with a bearded gentleman wearing an iron-
red hood seated beside a red-capped crane and a boy with a prunus
branch seated on rockwork, the right panel with a bearded fisherman
with rod seated beside a boy holding a fish, the plaques inscribed
and sealed and mounted together in a hinged frame.
Each plaque 19.6cm x 10.7cm (7¾in x 4¼in)

A famille rose rectangular porcelain plaque
Late Qing Dynasty
Vividly enamelled in shades of blue, green, pink, aubergine and
yellow with a traveller supported on his staff being led by two
peasants, walking into a tower among a mountainous landscape
enclosing plum blossoms and wutong trees, with further extensive
high mountains amidst undulating cloud scrolls, all within a bamboo
stalk border, framed.
