AN IRON-RED & GILT DECORATED ‘LOTUS’ VASE
19th century
The ovoid body rising from a straight foot ring to a waisted neck with
flared mouth, the surfaces neatly painted with formal lotus scrolls
incorporating stylized shou characters and bats, between bands of
ruyi-heads, upright lappets and key-fret, the foot with a Shende Tang
zhi mark in iron-red.

A PAIR OF FAMILLE-ROSE ENAMELED CLAIR DE LUNE
GARLIC MOUTH VASES
Daoguang seal marks, Republic period
Each with pear-shaped body, narrowing towards the neck and
expanding just below the mouth to form a garlic head, the neck
ringed with two bow-string bands, each vase painted as a mirror
image of the other with chrysanthemum, asters, begonias, bamboo
and butterflies, the recessed white foot marked in underglaze blue
with the six-character mark.

A PAIR OF ‘FLORAL’ BALUSTER VASES
Jiaqing seal marks, Republic period
Each painted as a mirror image of the other, with peonies, magnolia,
chrysanthemum, and mallow growing behind a garden rock next
to a goldfish pond, the shoulders and neck painted with scattered
floral sprigs and butterflies, the recessed foot centered with the six-
character mark in iron-red.
