FIVE ARCHAISTIC JADE BEADS
Late Qing Dynasty
The Wengzhong figure carved with simple strokes to depict a standing
figure wearing an official hat and long robe, his hands held in front
and concealed under long sleeves, horizontally perforated through
the center for stringing, the pale celadon stone slightly degraded; the
barrel-shaped bead with thick walls carved with a chi dragon, the pale
stone stained brown in various tones; the conjoined tubular bead finely
incised with a band of ruyi pattern across the center, the pale celadon
stone degraded on one end; the cong-shaped bead with square
corners divided in four tiers, the stone tinted orange-brown in areas;
the large bead lively carved with a chi dragon, the reverse plain and
smoothly polished, the gray stone with fine texture stained black on
the dragon. (5)
Wengzhong: 3 1/4in (8.3cm) high;
Beads: 15/16in to 2 7/16in (2.4cm to 6.3cm) long

THREE CARVED HARDSTONE BANGLES
Late Qing Dynasty
One of flattened cylindrical shape, finely carved with a dragon and four
archaistic characters, the stone mottled brown and black; one carved
with sixteen archaistic characters on the rounded exterior, the interior
flat, the deep green stone mottled russet brown; the other finely carved
on the rounded exterior with a mythical landscape scene enclosing a
chi dragon, a lingzhi fungus, a bundle of books, and a tapir, the interior
flat, the celadon stone smoothly polished and mottled russet brown
throughout. (3)
