SIX ARCHAISTIC JADE AND HARDSTONE ORNAMENTS
Late Qing Dynasty
Comprising an elongated cong-shaped bead decorated with six
tiers of double panels, the ends finished with short circular rims, the
stone stained reddish-brown; a short cong with rounded corners,
the mottled stone stained black in areas; a plain bi disc with rounded
edges, the stone stained black and brown; a flattened circular bead
decorated with incised chi dragon and ruyi scrolls, encircled by a band
of keyfret pattern on the side, the stone stained russet brown; an oval
disc carved on either side neatly lined bosses, the stone turned russet
brown in areas; a bi disc carved with two chi dragons in high relief,
the reverse decorated with ruyi scrolls, the pale celadon stone slightly
degraded. (6)
Cong-shaped bead: 3in (7.6cm) long;
Short cong: 1 11/16in (4.4cm) wide;
Plain bi disc: 1 7/8in (4.8cm) diam;
Circular bead: 1 5/16in (3.3cm) diam;
Oval disc: 1 13/16in (4.6cm) wide;
Bi disc with dragons: 2 3/8in (6cm) diam

FOUR ARCHAISTIC JADE AND HARDSTONE CARVINGS OF
CURRENCY
Late Qing Dynasty
The pendant of bu and huang made in homage to the ancient
currency and decorated with archaistic characters in low relief within
line borders, the reverse simply carved, the pale translucent stone
stained black in areas; the oblong-shaped coin with a perforated
tap on either end, the center with an oval opening and decorated
with three archaistic characters, the reverse incised with crisscross
pattern within a line border, the beige stone smoothly polished with
dark gray streaks; the thick circular disc decorated with four archaistic
characters, the stone pitted on one side and stained black; the oval
disc with a rectangular opening at the center, decorated with scroll
patterns on either side within line borders, the pale stone stained
brown and pitted in areas. (4)
