A CIRCULAR WHITE JADE ‘LOTUS AND SPIDER’ PLAQUE
18TH CENTURY

清十八世紀 白玉蜘蛛蓮花紋牌

The plaque has a shaped rim and is carved in low relief to one side with
a spider sitting in the centre of an open lotus leaf bordered by peach,
pomegranate, fowers and lotus pods. The other side is delicately
carved with a lotus fower and is pierced with double holes. The stone
is of an even tone.

                                                                          The rectangular plaque is carved in low relief with two playful boys and
                                                                          auspicious objects, the reverse with a chilong below a stylized fu character in a
                                                                          cartouche. The stone is of an even pale tone.
