                                                   AN INSIDE-PAINTED CRYSTAL SNUFF BOTTLE
                                                   SIGNED ZHOU LEYUAN (D.1893)

                                                   周樂元 水晶內畫山水圖鼻煙壺

                                                   The bottle is painted on the inside with a landscape scene to one
                                                   side and a fower vase and censer to the other side. The shoulder
                                                   is incised with two animal mask handles. There is a calligraphic
                                                   inscription to each side along with three seals.

The bottle is carved through slip with a pavilion
and landscape scene to one side and a poetic
calligraphic inscription to the other.
