A BROWN JADE ‘LOTUS’ BRUSH WASHER, XI
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
清乾隆 褐玉蓮形洗
The large lotus leaf is carved in relief and undercut
around the sides and base with lotus stems bearing
smaller leaves and fowers. The stone is of a dark brown
and caramel tone and infused with mottled inclusions.

A YELLOW-GLASS MANDARIN’S COURT
NECKLACE, CHAOZHU
19TH CENTURY
清十九世紀 黃料朝珠
The necklace is composed of 108 yellow glass beads
divided by four larger beads, jiezhu, ‘connecting
beads’. The central jiezhu has a red ribbon leading to
the beiyun, ‘back cloud’ which is weighed down by a
pendant with a metal mount. There are three secondary
pendants formed of 10 glass beads.
