A JUNYAO PURPLE-SPLASHED TEA BOWL
Song/Yuan dynasty
Potted with deep rounded sides rising from a tapered foot ring,
covered overall with a sky-blue glaze, thinning to a buff tone at the rim,
the interior lightly crackled, the exterior almost entirely splashed with a
brilliant purple, the thick glaze stopping just above the neatly-cut foot
ring, the dark-brown body showing at the foot beneath a dollop of
glaze.
