A BLUE AND WHITE ‘LOTUS’ BOWL
Kangxi mark and of the period
Potted with deep rounded sides rising from a tall, tapered foot ring to
an everted rim, painted in vibrant tones of underglaze blue, the interior
with a medallion enclosing a single lotus spray below undulating lotus
scrolls on the cavetto, the rim encircled by a narrow band of truncated
lotus blossoms and leaves, the lotus scroll repeated on the exterior, the
foot inscribed with the six-character mark within a double-circle.
