A BLUE AND WHITE ‘LANDSCAPE’ VASE
Kangxi period
The compressed globular body surmounted by a tall gently waisted
neck with a flared mouth, all supported on a splayed foot with
neatly incut edge, the body painted with two panels enclosing
two landscapes, one of a scholar and his attendant carrying a qin,
the other of houses tucked between rocks and a river, the panels
separated by flaying cranes, beneath decorative bands adorning the
neck, the foot marked with a double circle.
