A ‘KRAAK’ BLUE AND WHITE KENDI
Wanli period
Potted with a compressed globular body, the flaring
cylindrical neck with garlic mouth rising from the
stepped shoulder, interrupted by the mamiform
spout, painted around the exterior in shades of
cobalt-blue with panels of flowers, foliage and
abstract designs, all supported on a low tapered
foot ring.

A BLUE AND WHITE ‘NARRATIVE SCENE’
JARDINERE
Jiajing mark, Kangxi period
Potted with an ovoid body and a wide mouth with
a lipped rim, the sides painted with a scene of two
officials meeting in an interior setting while one of the
official’s retainers wait outside, the neatly incut edge
of the recessed foot surrounding the six-character
underglaze blue mark.
