Edo period (1615-1868) or Meiji era (1868-1912), mid 19th century
Both sides carved in low relief, the front with a sprig of a flowering bud
on the banks of a river, the reverse engraved with four tensho-script
characters Fukishinsen (God of Wealth); inscribed Goshoseki toshi
shichijushichi (Goshoseki, 77 years of age), after the famous painter
and calligrapher Goshoseki.
