The crouching animal is modelled holding its
front paws around a hollowed bowl that continues
below the hare’s body functioning as the oil
receptacle.

YUAN-MING DYNASTY, 14TH-15TH
CENTURY
The small vessel is supported on three stylised
elephant-head feet and is moulded with a band of
archaistic scroll below the faring rim. It is applied
with a pair of upright handles.
