Tibet. Ca. 15th/16th c.

Copper bronze with residue of fire gilding
and inlaid stones. With crossed arms at
heart level, he holds a vajra in his right
hand and a bell in his left. His head and
body adorned with jewelry inlaid with
small turquoises.

Despite visible traces of long worship and
ritual use, the small figure has not lost
any of its expressiveness. Finely designed
facial features and an elegant posture
Emil Ball (1907–2008) characterize him. The base may be
originally closed and ritually filled. Weight
167g, Height 8.3cm. Condition A/B.

銅鎏金嵌綠松石金剛總持坐蓮像
西藏 約15/16世紀 高8.3cm/重167g
此尊金剛總持雙手在胸前結哞迦羅印，右
手持金剛杵，左手持金剛鈴。頭戴花冠，
身著天衣，佩戴瓔珞、釧環等裝飾，面容
沉靜莊嚴，全跏趺坐於仰覆式束腰蓮座，
蓮座上下緣飾細密聯珠紋。金剛總持是藏
傳佛教敬奉的本初佛，被認為是釋迦牟尼
說密法時所呈現的形象。，他代表著上
師，自性，故也視同法身佛。底座可能為
