           on elevated rockwork amongst magnolia and
           flowering peonies on a pale sky-blue ground,
           the underside in pale lemon-yellow enamel
           with a central melon and leafy tendrils.

           BLUE-ENAMEL-GROUND STEM CUPS,
           COVERS AND STANDS
           18th century
           Of European form, painted with stylised
           central flowerheads within bands of lotus
           blooms and entwined scrolling foliage, the   690
           interiors and undersides enamelled turquoise.
           The stem cups and covers 19cm (7 1/2in)
           high. (6).

           蓋盃連盤一對

           A set of four Qianlong mark and period
           bowls with a similar design, in the Shenyang
           Imperial Palace Museum, is illustrated in The
           Prime Cultural Relics Collected by Shenyang
           Imperial Palace Museum: The Enamel Volume,
           Shenyang, 2008, pp.40-41, no.4.

           Compare with a pair of very similar gilt-
           decorated blue-ground saucers, Qianlong   691
           mark and period, which was sold at Christie’s
           London, 3 September 2013, lot 31.
