Colombia’s next bidding round
slated to open by end of March
COLOMBIA’S government is reportedly set
to release the schedule for its next oil and gas
licensing round by the end of March.
According to Armando Zamora, the head
of the South American country’s state oil regu-
lator ANH, Bogotá will start accepting bids in
the Ronda Colombia 2021 tender for 32 new
blocks within the next few weeks. The regulatory
agency aims to name the winners of the auctions
in November, he told Reuters on the sidelines of
IHS Markit’s CERAWeek conference last week.
He further stated that the Colombian gov-
ernment hoped to sign contracts for at least 15
of the 32 licence areas covered by the tender. He
did not say which blocks were likely to reach
that stage, but he did note that officials in Bogotá ANH head Armando Zamora (Photo: Twitter/SNH)
