the Apostle Paul has to say. Most of us realize he wrote most of
the New Testament, but the level of his authority and revelation
often escape us.
Galatians says he spent 3 years in the desert alone with Jesus,
being trained in the gospel, and then he spent another 14 years in
what might be called ‘on the job training’ in preaching to Gentile
heathens. It was only after this that we went up to Jerusalem to tell
the other Apostles about the gospel message he had received from
Jesus (Gal 2:1-5).
He also says he had a special conference with God in what he
calls ‘the third heaven’ about this message. Here he was told things
so great he was not allowed to repeat them to us (II Cor 12:1-4).
So, no matter how glorious we ever come to see the gospel is, it is
actually greater than we can ever begin to imagine.
Jesus and Paul Spoke the Same Message
No Christian denies that Jesus was the Son of God — God in
human flesh sent to redeem us, save us, and impart His very own
righteousness to us. This is what Paul says in I Corinthians 1:30:
that God the Father made Him to be wisdom, righteousness,
sanctification and redemption to us. Thus Paul says Jesus was made
to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the
righteousness of God in Him (II Cor 5:21).
