Jesus Deferred to Paul

I find it interesting in John 16:12 that Jesus says, “I have many

things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.”

Following this statement, three times in the remainder of the

chapter He says that He is going to “declare” things to us, or
“show” us deep things of God. Then He is crucified.

If you’re reading expectantly, you suddenly find yourself asking,

“Ah, Jesus… wait a minute… when do you plan to tell us all the

other things you need to tell us?”

The Apostle Paul says he was given a specific revelation of

THE GOSPEL from Jesus himself, as we saw in Galatians. He was

given a special revelation of the mystery of the dispensation of the

grace of God for us (Eph 3:1-3). He says it was ‘committed into my

                TRUST’ (I Timothy 1:11).

Have no doubt: Paul knew he was being given a very

specific, new revelation from God that no one else had received.
He knew he was in a very unique place, compared to other Bible

                writers.

Why didn’t Jesus choose to give this specific revelation to

Peter? Why not to John, “the disciple whom Jesus loved”? Why not

to doubting Thomas? Now there would be a headline for the
