The ORIGINAL New Testament only contained
the historical account of the life of Jesus,

and then the writings of the Apostle Paul

                                              about the GOSPEL!

Other than this, all they had to go on

                                       was the Old Testament scriptures.

Now, don’t get me wrong. It’s wonderful that we have books

like Acts, Luke, and the letters of Peter. It’s wonderful that we have

John’s writings in both his history of Jesus, and his letters. And

where would we be without Revelation?

But it’s interesting to see how FOCUSED
the first century church was on

the writings of Paul about the GOSPEL!

It’s something we’ve lost today, and thus

we don’t ‘rightly divide the word of truth.’

Don’t consult Paul on the history of the life and teachings of

Jesus. Don’t consult Paul on events as John writes about them in

Revelation. Paul doesn’t have insight and revelation here.

But, except for Jesus himself who brought us the message of
the gospel, do consult Paul exclusively with regard to the Gospel.

We saw that the gospel was a specific revelation imparted to

Paul by God Himself. It wasn’t imparted to John in the writing of

Revelation. It wasn’t imparted to Peter to write his letters. It
